Cascabel means rattle, this traditional Mexican chili keeps its shape when dried and can be used like a rattle thanks to the heavy seeds inside. The pods of this type of chili are often used not only in the kitchen but also in traditional medicine and for certain rituals. The plant can grow quite large and produces lots of berries. The taste is rather neutral/similar to paprika.
